Located on Cadogan Square, Chelsea, we embarked on a sophisticated architectural endeavour of this high-end 140sqm (1500sq ft) basement set beneath the grandeur of a mansion house. This subterranean addition, seamlessly integrated into a comprehensive 7-floor scheme, contributes to the overall magnificence of the residence within the prestigious Cadogan Estate.

At the heart of this architectural augmentation lies a sensitively designed basement, featuring a cavernous swimming pool adorned with expansive grey tiling, evoking the ambiance of a mountain cave pool. Illuminated by what appears as a lengthy clerestory window, a void in the ceiling artfully channels the effect of natural light into this subterranean sanctuary. The aquatic haven is complemented by a gym enveloped in deep brown leather, alongside a sauna and steam room, collectively forming a dedicated floor for relaxation. Meticulous attention was devoted to ensuring that the basement seamlessly harmonises with the rest of the dwelling, creating an illusion as if it were an inherent component from its inception. The materials and design employed in this subterranean retreat are curated to induce a pervasive sense of tranquillity, enhancing the overall residential experience.

The swimming pool exemplifies luxury, while the glazing adds a touch of contemporary elegance to this subterranean space to escape. This architectural venture not only expands the spatial dimensions of the mansion but also elevates the residence to new heights of modern opulence within the distinguished ambiance of Cadogan Estate, next to Knightsbridge.
